Sustainable Design Solutions is pleased to announce its latest hire, Nicole Henderson, P.E., as Area Director for Sustainable and also a Project Manager for the Clean Water Shreveport Program.
Nicole joined the company’s Shreveport office to serve in this cross-functional role. A licensed Environmental Engineer, she has ten years of experience in public works administration, including sewer engineering and wastewater collections for the City of Baton Rouge Department of Environmental Services.
When asked what prompted her career move, Nicole explained that Sustainable Design Solutions’ mission and the Clean Water of Shreveport project stood out and piqued her interest.
“I wanted to continue working with the City of Baton Rouge and similar programs like the City’s Sanitary Sewer Overflow program that I was a part of, but was interested in branching out into the private sector,” said Nicole.
As the new Area Director, Nicole represents Sustainable Design Solutions in north Louisiana.
“I’m excited to share my sewer experience with the team and grow my expertise from wastewater to the industry’s water sector side,” said Nicole.
Nicole explains she loves that teamwork is a core value at Sustainable, and she enjoys working with and learning from her co-workers.
As a Project Manager, she is currently managing lift stations and water projects and building a redundant and resilient water supply for the critical infrastructure facilities in Shreveport. She is also supporting some of the City’s collection system projects.
Nicole is NASSCO certified and skilled in AutoCAD, MicroStation, sanitary sewer, and wastewater treatment. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University.
Outside of work, her passions include fitness and partnering with community service projects, for her hometown, as a committee member of the nonprofit organization, Junior League of Baton Rouge.
