Hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana, Seneca Lee, a 19-year-old engineering student, has embarked on a journey driven by a deep-rooted passion for creating a better future. Recently transferring from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to Louisiana Tech, Seneca was determined to gain hands-on experience in a field related to his major. While waiting for an opportunity, fate led him to discover an internship opportunity at Sustainable Design Solutions—a chance to work alongside a team of experienced engineers.
The opportunity to intern with a company deeply committed to sustainability, alongside seasoned professionals who had already walked the path Seneca is on, was too good to pass up. Additionally, being involved in the matters of his hometown added an extra layer of significance to his decision.
Throughout his internship, Seneca is actively engaging in various tasks. From supporting the completion of infrastructure work orders to assisting with spreadsheet data tracking, Seneca has demonstrated a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn.
Seneca enjoys contributing to the overall goals of Sustainable Design Solutions and assisting his colleagues with more tedious tasks while enhancing his learning experience.
Working in an office surrounded by accomplished engineers who have taken diverse paths has instilled confidence in Seneca’s journey. Witnessing firsthand the value and impact of skilled engineers, Seneca says he is driven to absorb as much knowledge as possible from his experienced colleagues at Sustainable Design Solutions.
Seneca is particularly passionate about site visits and construction management. The tangible nature of these activities allows him to comprehend and appreciate the progress, further fueling his enthusiasm and dedication.
