Sustainable Design Solutions partners with Stantec to revitalize the University Lakes System

The Sustainable Design Solutions logo, representing their project management services, is in the bottom right.

Sustainable Design Solutions is proud to be a part of the Stantec team that will evaluate water quality, hydrology, dredging, and dredge fill placement to revitalize the Louisiana State University (LSU) Lakes System.

Six lakes around LSU’s campus have suffered from vegetation overgrowth and sedimentation build-up over the years. Stantec was selected to deliver flood risk reduction design services for the University Lakes project and three other consultants – Sasaki, GeoEngineers, and Fenstermaker work on parallel portions of the project.

Sustainable will work with Stantec to guide and design plans to rehabilitate the lakes by dredging them, subsequently improving water quality and their capacity. Other lake enhancements that will benefit the community include new greenspace, habitats, pathways, and surrounding amenities.

This week marks the first phase of fieldwork for the project. We are excited to be a part of this cornerstone project!
